Ohio was one of the first states to adopt Common Core standards approved by the State Board of Education in 2010. Schools all over Ohio have been busily preparing their teachers and purchasing books and materials that can lead their students into an academic and technological America that has outgrown the previous standards. Colleges and Universities have restructured their teacher education programs to prepare their graduates for a structure that strengthens English/language arts and math.
Voting apathy is highest among the poorest and most excluded sectors of society. I am appealing to church leaders and Pastors to consider providing a group of church volunteers to establish a time when members of the community can come to their church to register to vote.
Some so-called charities and political causes have stepped over the line to obtain contributions, and made senior citizens their target.
