
Brandi Slaughter
Brandi Slaughter is the new Public Policy Associate for the Ohio Council of Churches. Brandi is the Chief Executive Officer of Voices for Ohio’s Children, an advocacy group that seeks to achieve positive change for Ohio’s children in the systems that serve them. Prior to being named Chief Executive Officer Brandi served the organization as a Chief Operating Officer and Director of Communications and Policy Associate.
Brandi brings a wealth of public policy experience to our organization having served as Communications Director, Legislative Liaison, and Policy Staff for various state agencies and as a Legislative Aide on Retired Senator Ray Miller’s staff.
Brandi is an ordained minister with the Church of God in Christ serving in ministry positions in Columbus and Delaware. She is also active in the Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance of Columbus, the National Council of Negro Women, and the NAACP (Columbus Chapter Political Action Committee Chair).
She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Morgan State University, and her Juris Doctor degree from Capital University with a concentration in Child and Family Law. She is a member of the Ohio Bar Association. She is the mother of one son, Nicholas, age 18.
