Mental Health Issues Affecting the LGBTQIA+ Community

Ohio Council of Churches: Mental Health Mondays

Mental Health Issues Affecting the LGBTQIA+ Community

Monday, June 12, 2022 at 3:30 PM EST via ZOOM

We will explore mental health issues as experienced by members of LGBTQIA+ communities. The facilitators of this one hour Zoom discussion will be Dr. Jasmin Brad BMBS (MD), Executive Director of LGBTQ+ Spectrum of Findlay, Ohio, and Dr. Robin K. Walters Powell, Ed.D., Associate Professor, Director of the Social Work Program, and Chair of the Healthcare Services Department of the University of Findlay.

Funded by an allocation from the State of Ohio's Mental Health and Addiction Services agency, the Ohio Council of Churches Mental Health Mondays series is part of a statewide campaign to reduce the stigma that is often associated with mental health care and treatment. Attendees will receive information designed to support their efforts to remove barriers that prevent people from accessing mental health care and treatment. The conversation will be livestreamed on the Council’s Facebook page.
